The core of Draw Poker consists of a player building up a hand from 5 cards. After the early round of betting the player receives replacements after optionally discarding some or all of their cards. Until the final Showdown, the player’s cards should never be revealed, and are shown only if absolutely necessary (more on that later). All the cards are dealt and discarded face down during the game.

When it comes to Draw Poker, there are two main things to learn. The first one is the Poker's 5-card hands & their ranking. The second is the course of play including when and how to bet.

The most popular poker game played these days is texas hold’em. The hand ranking is the same as normal poker game. The number of players that can sit at a texas hold em poker table ranges from 2 to 10. All the players get two cards each at the start which are private cards. Then after completion of first round three more cards are dealt which are kept face up. These cards are common for every poker player and are termed as the flop. After this another community card is dealt called the turn at the end of round when all players have funded equal amount in the middle. Then comes the fifth card called the river. This means that there are now 5 cards in the middle of poker table and two private cards which makes it 7 cards for all players. A player has to choose 5 best cards out of the 7 cards which will be his poker hand. The player with the best poker hand at the end of the round is the winner and takes all the money in the middle.
